DESCRIPTION:
COCALERO DE ALTURA is carefully crafted from hand-selected Andean botanicals. For each batch, our master distiller seeks out the highest quality ingredients from the markets in La Paz.
Our distillery is situated at 12,000 ft. above sea level in La Paz, Bolivia under the shadow of the Devil’s Tooth mountain. Distilling the spirit at high altitude means our stills can work at lower temperatures, resulting in cleaner aromas.
The resulting distillate rests for a minimum of 30 days before being cut with natural spring water from the Cordillera Real Mountain Range.

Like the mystical coca leaf, these peppers have been used in Andean religious and spiritual ceremonies since the time of the Incas. Bright red while on the vine, these peppers are naturally blackened by the Andean sun, concentrating their rich, unique flavors.
