DESCRIPTION:

COCALERO DE ALTURA is carefully crafted from hand-selected Andean botanicals. For each batch, our master distiller seeks out the highest quality ingredients from the markets in La Paz. 

Our distillery is situated at 12,000 ft. above sea level in La Paz, Bolivia under the shadow of the Devil’s Tooth mountain. Distilling the spirit at high altitude means our stills can work at lower temperatures, resulting in cleaner aromas.

The resulting distillate rests for a minimum of 30 days before being cut with natural spring water from the Cordillera Real Mountain Range.

HERO BOTANICALS:

Coca Leaf, Coriander, Juniper, Eucalyptus, Anise Seed and Cacao are just a selection of the natural ingredients that make up this truly unique spirit.

TASTING NOTES:

Aroma: A hint of sweetness from the Palo Santo suggests hints of caramel and vanilla, balanced perfectly with notes of juniper, spearmint and citrus.

Taste: The marriage of more than 20 botanicals provides a complex layered flavor experience. Surprisingly light and citrusy at first, rounded out with unique herbal notes of eucalyptus, coriander and aniseed.

Finish: A smooth, dry and slightly herbaceous finish.
